| 内容記述 | The great diversity of animal species in the coral reef is well established. I examine causes and consequences of this species divrersity on the Great Barrier Reef by briefly describing the following features associated with the coral reef: (1) evolutionary history, (2) species-area relationship (3) number of coral species, (4) reef architecture, (5) environmental gradients, (6) community composition, (7) guild size, (8) niche width and overlap, and (9) dynamics of diversity. We find in all of these the conditions favouring high speceis diversity of animals on the Great Barrier Reef. | |||||
